Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I’m Denise and I’m the principal, guidance counselor, bus driver, janitor, cafeteria worker, secretary and teacher around here. Guess what else I am. Go on, guess! OK Fine, don’t play, I’ll just tell you.
Besides wearing all of those hats during the educational process we call "homeschooling/schooling at home" I am also the student. That’s right, I am. I’m learning right along with Michelle, and not boring stuff like Algebra (math is hard!) or Chemistry (why can’t we blow stuff up instead of of watching egg shells soften?). Nope, I’m learning important life stuff and now you get to learn some of those important life stuff things along with me. Lucky you. Lucky me. Lucky us.
Michelle is 16 and she’ll be a high school junior next year. She’s only been "home" since April of 2004, before that she was in public schools all over the country, and the world. Bringing her home for school was a fast decision and it was a decision I never thought I would make. Right up until the moment that I made that final call, I was saying "No, I’m not homeschooling her!"
So here we are, homeschooling and schooling at home and very happy about it. (Are you wondering about that "homeschooling/school at home thing? Don’t worry, I’ll explain it all to you – later. Too much, too quickly is never a good thing. Time and patience, ok?)
Stick around, there’s never a dull moment at the Flamingo House. Fast Times @ Homeschool High? Oh yea! Fast times, indeed.

Homeschooling is NOT for the timid. But then, you’re the least timid person I know. This blog will rock.

Hey Snead. Timid? Nah, if I were timid, these kids would eat me alive – homeschooling or no homeschooling.
Thinking good thoughts for the pup, today.

Yay! Look who’s here!
Welcome and greetings. You and TW have a lot to share with ClubMom.
I send my aloha to you and your beautiful family, Denise.

Hey Ms Marathon Mom, nice to be here! Even if you do say aloha too often – it makes me jealous. I want to say aloha!

Say it with me, Denise…ALOOOOHAAAAA!
You’ll get to Hawaii sooner or later. In the meantime, you live among the flamingoes. How tropical is that?

I’d prefer it be sooner. There are a couple of awesome people there who I would really like to see. I thought we were going to get there last year but bad stuff happened and it didn’t work out.
Bad stuff keeps happening so it’s still not working out.
Somedayyyyyyyyyy, bloody someday.
(Oh, and not too tropical here. My flamingos have taken shelter in the garage for a few years. They don’t like being gawked at all of the time, and the racoons bugged them a bit.)
