We took the red-eye back from Blogher last night and went straight to work. Michelle was still in her pajamas when we got home at noon and she wanted to talk and talk and talk. I was too tired and too busy to talk and talk and talk. I felt bad but she is a good kid and understood that I was tired and had work to do. She realized just how tired I was when I had still not unpacked two hours after I had been home. I always unpack and start laundry, IMMEDIATELY upon returning home.
She was here with her brother and the half-kid from Thursday til this morning and she cleaned her room, made sure the boys caulked the tub and mowed the backyard (she didn’t make sure they mowed the front yard) and supervised the bringing up of the trash bins. She’s good at telling the boys what to do, so she doesn’t have to do anything herself.
She also did quite a bit of schoolwork. I was a little surprised. I thought I’d come home to find she had been procrastinating the next segment of the SAT prep class – it’s math, and she’s really not into it. But no, she worked, without me reminding her long distance everyday.
I’m lucky. Tired, but lucky. (Added the photo and… She likes her Stylefeeder t-shirt and you should have seen her laugh at the Susie Bright pin. And when I handed her the Elexa Sexy-Smart t-shirt, and tried to explain Elexa, she said “I know mom, the condoms for women.” Have I mentioned, I’m lucky?)

It was so wonderful to meet you at Blogher on Friday night. I felt such kinship with you when I told you about my son’s learning disability and you knew exactly what I meant. That was what made Blogher so special-having something in common with so many people.

Elizabeth! I met someone later who I thought you should talk to and now I can’t remember who it is. I still haven’t unpacked, so hopefully when I’m sifting through my cards, it will come to me.
It was a pleasure meeting you, as well.

Nice tshirt

Thanks Phil. We prefer the V-neck but apparently the “small” didn’t come in that style. Too bad, it’s a better look and unusual in a t-shirt of this type.

LOL of all the things I thought you would say in response to this post, that is not one of them.
Don’t get all excited, ok? The picture has been there a long time. You just haven’t been here to see it.
It’s cranes and it belongs to TW and I personally hate the thing. Which is why she hung it. Up there. It use to be in our bedroom. Did I mention I hate it?
I’m not complaining though. It could be the scarey blue trees that use to be in the bedroom, too – that one, Michelle loves and confiscated it to her room. Shiver.
